Celebrate Recovery

Celebrate Recovery is a program for anyone who needs help with areas like substance abuse, hurts, co-dependency, sexual purity, food issues, and anger.  The mission of Celebrate Recovery is to celebrate God’s healing power in our lives through the Christ-centered 12 Steps and 8 Recovery Principles.  Celebrate Recovery will meet every Friday night 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Orchard Hills Church.  For more information, call Jill Simmons at 540-966-5683.

Annual Members Meeting

Journey’s annual members meeting will be held on Sunday, November 18. Following the 11:15 service that day lunch will be provided in the high school cafeteria, and after that the members meeting will be held in the high school auditorium. Click here to register for the meal.

Journey Swag

Can’t get enough of Journey? Looking for conversation pieces to help share your faith? A variety of Journey swag items will be available for purchase in the atrium of Northside High School before and after the 10:00 and 11:15 worship services on Sunday, November 18. Items for sale include: t-shirts, stainless steel coffee tumblers, baseball hats, drink mugs and cups!

Invitation to Q Commons

Again this year Journey will be co-sponsoring Q Commons Roanoke. This two-hour simulcast and live event will educate Christians on how we can bring hope and leadership to our communities in a critical moment for America. Join us 7:00-9:00 p.m., on Thursday, October 25, 2018, as we gather at the Jefferson Center’s Fitzpatrick Hall to learn and consider how to advance good in Roanoke. Journey 101:  Believing and Belonging

Are you interested in learning more about Journey Church? We’re offering two options on the same weekend for you to attend our Journey 101 class. You can come either 9:00-12:00 on Saturday morning, November 3, or 1:00-4:00 on Sunday afternoon, November 4, at our church office complex at 3574 Read Mountain Road. (The Saturday class will include snacks; the Sunday class will include lunch.) You’ll learn about Journey’s vision and values, what it means to be a follower of Christ, why we’re the kind of church we are, and more! At the end of the class you’ll have the opportunity to become a member of Journey Church.  Click here to register!


Journey is planning a baptism service on Sunday, November 11, at 6:00 p.m. at Orchard Hills Church. Baptism is a way that people show that they’ve truly committed their lives to Jesus. If you are interested in being baptized, click here to register. You’ll be contacted.

Journey 301:  Discovering Your Spiritual Gifts

Would you like to discover your spiritual gifts? Understand your personal style? Apply your God-given passion for serving in the body of Christ? Then you’ll want to attend the Journey 301 class 9:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, at our Journey Church office complex at 3574 Read Mountain Road. The cost is $5.00 (this includes materials and lunch) and registration is required by October 28. If you’re interested in participating, please register today! Once registered, you’ll be contacted about obtaining pre-course assignment material.

Elijah’s Backpack

Journey Church has an opportunity to serve children in four elementary schools by partnering with Elijah’s Backpack, a ministry that every weekend sends food home from school with needy children who might otherwise go hungry.  Every Sunday you are invited to bring food to Northside High School and place it in bins in the atrium.  Here is a listing of food (individual serving sizes) to go into each backpack:  100% Juice; Oatmeal (Box with Individual Packages); Tuna Kits; Macaroni and Cheese Singles; Peanut Butter (Small Jars); Crackers; Chicken or Vegetable Soup; Apple Sauce; Fruit Cups/Canned Fruit; Spaghettios or Ravioli; Hormel Compleats; Canned Vegetables; Canned Chili; Goldfish; Pudding; Granola Bars; microwave popcorn.
