A Life-changing Christmas Gift?

Christmas is right around the corner! Give your child, grandchild, niece, nephew or special one in your life the gift of camp June 26-30 by submitting their $50 camp deposit by December 31. Want to go all out? The cost of CentriKid and FUGE Camps is $250 per child. CentriKid and FUGE are life-changing experiences kids in grades 3-12 will remember for the rest of their lives. Bless them this holiday season with this very special gift! For more information or questions, please contact Jill Simmons or Jackie Taylor @ 540.966.5683.

DivorceCare Starting

DivorceCare is a 13-week group for those who are looking to find help and healing for the hurt of separation and divorce. In a DivorceCare group there are friendly, caring people who walk alongside you through one of life's most difficult experiences. Don’t go through separation or divorce alone. Beginning January 8, 2019, Journey Church’s DivorceCare group will meet 6:30-8:00 p.m. weekly on Tuesdays at Bonsack Baptist Church. For more information, click here or text Pastor James at 540-632-1535.

Unleash Leadership

In leadership, difficult conversations come with the territory. Would you like to learn a powerful framework for developing this skill? If so, don’t miss the next Unleash Leadership gathering at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 28, at the Rescue Mission, located at 402 4th Street, SE, Roanoke. There will be a video presentation of “Mastering the Art of Crucial Conversations” by Joseph Grenny. Then participants will get into small groups to have conversations about how to practically implement what they’ve learned. All are welcome. There will be snacks! Unleash Leadership is initiated by Journey Church and is held the fourth Wednesday of each month. For more info, email unleash@jchurch.net or text Pastor Michael at 540-632-1535.

JourneyCares Holiday Challenge

Normally, our church gives away 10% of our offerings to feed the hungry, care for the homeless, hurting and hopeless, and help people experience the life-transforming love of Jesus by starting new churches and sending out missionaries. From Sunday, November 25 until December 31, Journey is taking up a JourneyCares Holiday Challenge in which we will give away 20% of all funds given beyond budgeted ministry needs for these mission outreach causes in our community and around the world. Join us in this! We are so grateful for your generosity!

Journey's Christmas Party!

You’re invited to Journey’s church-wide Christmas party on Saturday, December 1, at Bonsack Baptist Church, located at 4845 Cloverdale Rd, Roanoke. People may start arriving at 5:30 p.m. The meal will begin at 6:00 p.m. There’s going to be fun, door prizes, and dancing! A photo booth will be available to create a photographic memory that you can take home at no cost to you. Everyone please bring covered dishes of food to feed all who come with you, plus one or two more persons. In addition, if the first letter of your last name begins with A–L, please bring a 2-liter soda or gallon of water, and if the first letter of your last name begins with M–Z, please bring a dessert to share. Paper products and ice will be provided for everyone. To help us prepare, click here to tell us how many people from your family are coming by Monday, November 26.

Christmas Gifts for Children in Our Community

Journey Church is adopting children from Burlington Elementary School, Cloverdale Elementary School and the local community this Christmas. Four items need to be purchased for each student: a shirt, pair of pants, toy, and book. Starting Sunday morning November 18, red gift tags will be available in the atrium. Each child will have two double-sided tags: one tag with their shirt and pant sizes and one tag with possible ideas for a book and a toy. You may take as many tags as you would like, but please only take the tags for the gifts you will commit to purchase. You may also purchase gift cards or donate money to help purchase gifts for any tags that are not taken. Please bring your unwrapped gifts (with the red tags attached) or gift cards for the children on Sunday, November 25 or December 2 or 9. Thank you for blessing these children this Christmas!

Christmas Eve Service

Put it on your calendars now! Journey’s Christmas Eve service will be at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, December 24, at Northside High School. Start inviting unchurched family and friends now.
