Unanimous. 100%. Every single member who voted said “Yes”. So, it’s official. Journey Church has decided to purchase the 7.44 acres Wild Goose property located at 5646 Cloverdale Road in Botetourt County!

The purchase of this property will provide Journey Church ownership of a home for a ministry center that’s already been used by Journey for five years and will be a site suitable for a future worship center after completion of a successful capital campaign.

Journey’s Sunday morning in person worship services will continue now to be held at Northside High School.

After the vote, I said I believed the Holy Spirit had prompted me to share several words:

Grateful. We are to be constantly grateful. Grateful for the goodness of God and the grace of God to us. Grateful for the loving community of faith that we are and that we will continue to be. Grateful for the opportunities to minister and to serve that the Lord is providing us.

Joyful. We are to embrace a joyful spirit in all things. We get to share the love of Jesus with people. We get to see lives transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit. We get to live lives of faith that impact the eternal destiny of others. We are to count it all joy.

Generous. We are to give generously. How generous we are reveals how much we truly love Jesus. Our generosity is what will enable expanding ministries by our church that will lead people into life-transforming relationships with Jesus and to experience authentic Christian community. We are to give generously to aid people in discovering the meaning and purpose God has for their lives and the joy and contentment that comes with that. We are to give generously so we might realize God’s bold dreams.

Step Up. We are to step up. Step up and volunteer. Step up and lead. Step up and do our part. Step up and fulfill God’s calling for our lives.

The vote has been taken. How grateful are you? How joyful are you? How generous are you? How will you step up?
