Journey Church is pleased to announce that Ryan Busby has been approved to be employed as the next lead pastor after a shared time of ministry with Michael DuVal by unanimous membership vote.
Meet Ryan Busby!
We, the Overseers, Management Team and Staff of Journey Church, want to introduce Ryan Busby to our community of faith.
Ryan loves God and loves people. He currently serves as Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church in Danville, Virginia, a position he’s held since 2020. He served as Senior Pastor of Bosqueville Baptist Church in Waco, Texas, from 2014 to 2020.
Ryan holds a Master of Divinity from Logsdon Seminary at Hardin-Simmons University and a Bachelor of Arts in Religion, with a minor in Communication, from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
In his ministry Ryan desires for people to encounter the living God. He is committed to preaching and teaching, pastoral care and encouragement, discipleship, meaningful worship, partnering with other ministries in the community, and God-honoring leadership. He has led congregations through significant seasons of growth and change.
Ryan is married to Bethany Busby, who ministers as a hospice chaplain. They have three boys, Rory, age 11, Remy, age 9, and Rhett, age 6.
Ryan is thrilled about the opportunity to serve with the Journey Church family.
