Our church has just completed a series called Christian-ish. Here are several questions to help discern if a person has a genuine faith in Jesus. They focus on hallmarks of a growing relationship with God. How would you answer them?
1. What evidence is there of God’s presence in your life?
How real of a sense of God do you have in your heart?
How clear is your assurance and certainty of God’s forgiveness and love for you?
When was the last time you had a season of joy in your life precisely because of your sense of God’s presence active in your life?
2. What evidence is there of Scripture changing you?
How are you finding the truths of Scripture alive and active in your life?
Which Biblical promises do you find precious and encouraging?
How are you experiencing God’s calling you or challenging you to actively do something or not do something through the Bible’s teachings?
3. What evidence is there in you of a growing appreciation for God’s grace?
How are you finding God’s grace more moving in your life now than you have in the past?
How are you conscious of a growing sense of the selfishness in your heart, and in response, a growing dependence on and grasp of the preciousness of the grace of God in your life?
